The Demands of Discipleship- Bishop Adioye

A Disciple is a follower. i.e one called to follow

He is one who has resigned from his personal interest with an absolute sense of abandonment.

He certainly must be a dead man because God uses only dead men.

What remains alive in you is what is hindering the fullness of God’s live in you.

Abandonment of self is what gives allowance to God’s spirit to fill up a vessel.

Also a disciple is expected to be a diligent follower.

He must be one who can endure hardness as a good soldier of Christ.

He is prepared to deny himself, take up his cross and ever willing to follow.

So, never live casual, if you don’t want to end in casualty, nor serve with levity if you don’t want to be leveled out.

Serve seriously if you want to be crowned gloriously.
