“… Stir up the gift of God, which is in thee…” 2 Timothy 1:6
In life, God cannot make a promise to you without giving you a corresponding gift that will enhance the manifestation of His promise in your life. In other words, whatever God says you will be whether a Medical Doctor, Politician or business man/woman ,He will give you the necessary raw materials that you need to accomplish it. Everyone is gifted. Your gifts and talents are pointers to whom God wants you to be in life.
They point you to your way of destiny fulfillment. Do not try to be someone else. All you need to do is to discover yours gift, enhance them and put them to use. The Apostle Paul puts it more succinctly. “… But every man has his proper gift of God, one after this manner, and another after that” (1 Corinthians 7:7). II Timothy 1:6 advises all to “… stir up the gift of God, which is in thee…” To ‘stir’ means ‘to use’.
You need to stir the gift of God within you else you may lose that gift. .
Proverbs 18:16, “A man’s gift maketh room (a way) for him, and bringeth him before great men” Beloved, if your gift can bring you before great men, it means you are great too.
In Daniel 1, many young Jews were captured and taken to Babylon as slaves. Then the king said to his senior eunuch: “… bring such as had ability (gift) in them to stand in the king’s palace …” (Daniel 1:3-4). Daniel was one of the young Jews that was so chosen. In Daniel 6:2, the Bible says: “And over these three presidents; of whom Daniel was first …” this means from a nobody he was chosen to be next to the king. Why? It is because there was a gift within him and he stirred it up. Similarly, there is a gift within you that God will use to get you to your next level in life. Now is the time to discover that gift and put your gift to work.
