“He that covereth his sins shall not prosper.” Proverbs 28:13
The third and final thing God delivered Moses from was the tendency to cover up.
In Exodus 2:12 “And he looked this way and that way, and when he saw that there was no man, he slew the Egyptian, and hid him in the sand.”What are you hiding in the sand? What part of your life have you hid in the sand? What habit are you keeping secret? What sinful habit are you secretly hiding in the sand? God sees what is hidden.
Repent and run away from it if not it will come out and explode in your face.
Verse 13 and 14 of Exodus 2 tells us that Moses tried to settle a dispute between two Hebrew men and the one who did wrong asked him “…Who made thee a prince and a judge over us? intendest thou to kill me, as thou killedst the Egyptian?…”
What are you hiding in the way you do your business and politics? Are you by your conversations on a daily basis hiding things in the sand? The Bible says in Proverbs 28:13 “He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.”
Moses ran away from Egypt immediately after that incident but God met him in the wilderness. You cannot run from God. God delivered Moses from cover-ups. Stop what you are covering up so that you can be bold enough to face your Pharaoh. Moses was unable to face Pharaoh until God dealt with him in the wilderness.
Moses had been delivered and that was why he kept going back to confront Pharaoh even after the rejection because he understood that God has given Israel a portion.
Finally in Exodus 12, God told Moses to tell Pharaoh that first born of every one of the Egyptians will die both of man and of beast. But before this, God instructed Moses to direct the people to borrow from as much as possible from the Egyptians. The Israelites did not steal from the Egyptians because it was their portion. At midnight there was a heavy cry among the Egyptians the firstborn sons of the Egyptians died and Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron in verse 31 and said “And he called for Moses and Aaron by night, and said, Rise up, and get you forth from among my people, both ye and the children of Israel; and go, serve the LORD, as ye have said.”
In Exodus From verse 31 to verse 36, you begin see what the Lord did for Israel. They left the land with great substance. Remember it was the promise of God to Abraham 400 years before. God never changes His mind no matter the size of the obstacles.
Prayer/Confession: Pharaoh, I challenge your power, let me go in the name of Jesus. I walk in portion, I celebrate my portion.
