the message below are excerpts from this morning’s first service word by Pst.David Oyedepo Jnr.
Colossians 1:9 knowing is will is good, but it is more important to understand His will. We are in a kingdom of secrets, the secrets you know determines the testimonies you command. 2Corinthians 11:3 we are in the era of the simplicity of the gospel that men don’t easily grasp it. The complexity of life will always bow to the simplicity of God’s word.
WHAT IS THANKSGIVING
Thanksgiving simply means giving glory to God for His mighty deeds in our midst both as a church and as an individual, Luke 17:11-19. Every time you see the finger of God it requires the praise of man. The way we anticipate miracles that’s how God anticipates thanksgiving from us.
WHY MUST WE GIVE THANKS
- To preserve our blessings- Malachi 3:1-3 the blessings of God released to us is a perishable entity. The preservation of any blessing is thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is the preservation of our blessings.
- To perfect out blessing- Luke 17:15-19 everytime you see God show up, even if you think He has not done it all, give Him thanks. James 1:17 until your appreciation is complete your testimony is not perfect.
- To keep the anointing fresh- When you talk about fresh anointing you talk about fresh power. Philippians 2:13, Zechariah 4:6-7.
HOW TO THANK HIM
Ephesians 5:18-20 you must give Him thanks cheerfully. When it starts with the heart He will accept the act.
Thanksgiving must be done quickly. Every thanksgiving delayed is not received. Timely thanks is acceptable thanks.
